What's Happening?
7 Brew Coffee, a national drive-thru coffee chain, is set to open its first location in Columbia County, Georgia. The new site will be located at 351 S. Belair Road in Martinez, within the Belair Village shopping center. The construction will involve prefabricated modular units that are shipped in pieces and assembled on-site. This approach is consistent with the chain's existing locations, including four in Augusta. The project is currently in the bidding phase, with Ganaway Contracting in Alpharetta and SD Clifton Construction in Martinez accepting subcontractor proposals until January 26, 2026.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of 7 Brew Coffee into Columbia County signifies the growing demand for convenient coffee options in the area. This development could
stimulate local economic activity by creating construction jobs and, eventually, employment opportunities at the new coffee shop. The use of modular construction techniques may also influence future commercial projects in the region, offering a faster and potentially more cost-effective building method. For residents, the new location provides an additional choice for coffee and quick service, enhancing the local retail landscape.
What's Next?
As the bidding process continues, the next steps will involve selecting subcontractors to carry out the construction. Once the bids are finalized and contracts awarded, the assembly of the modular units will commence. The timeline for completion will depend on the efficiency of the construction process and any unforeseen delays. Upon opening, the new 7 Brew Coffee location will likely engage in local marketing efforts to attract customers and establish its presence in the community.
