What's Happening?
Glamox, a global leader in lighting, has secured a contract to supply lighting for four Offshore Energy Support Vessels (OESVs) being built for Sea1 Offshore. Glamox will provide 8,000 marine lights for the exteriors and interiors of the vessels, which
support offshore energy installations. The lighting includes rugged exterior lights and multipurpose interior luminaires. The first vessel's lighting will be delivered to COSCO Shipping Offshore in April, with subsequent deliveries every three months.
Why It's Important?
The contract highlights the importance of energy-efficient lighting in offshore energy support vessels, which operate in harsh sea conditions. Glamox's lighting solutions complement the environmental benefits of methanol-ready vessels, which can run on biofuel. This development underscores the growing demand for sustainable and efficient technologies in the maritime industry, contributing to reduced environmental impact and enhanced operational capabilities.
What's Next?
The delivery of lighting for Sea1 Offshore's vessels is scheduled through 2027 and the first half of 2028. As the vessels are built to high specifications, the lighting must meet strict demands for performance and durability. Glamox's involvement in this project may lead to further opportunities in the maritime sector, as the industry continues to prioritize sustainability and efficiency in vessel design and operation.
