What's Happening?
Gabriella Khalil, known for her work as the creative director of the Palm Heights Hotel, has partnered with Danish carpet design firm Ege to create a new collection called Common Ground. The collection was unveiled during Milan Design Week in a midcentury
building designed by Ottavio Cabiati and Luigi Brambilla. The carpets feature playful, nature-driven graphics in warm cream and rich chocolate shades. This collaboration marks Khalil's first venture into carpets, expanding her signature escapist aesthetic beyond hospitality and fashion.
Why It's Important?
Gabriella Khalil's collaboration with Ege represents a significant expansion of her design influence into the home decor sector. By introducing her aesthetic to carpets, Khalil is bridging the gap between fashion and interior design, offering consumers a cohesive lifestyle experience. The partnership with Ege, a respected name in carpet design, enhances the collection's appeal and potential market reach. This move aligns with a growing trend of fashion designers entering the home decor space, reflecting consumer interest in curated, design-forward living environments.
