What's Happening?
The Mary Valley Rattler is set to host an immersive experience called the Gympie Gold Heist on May 2, blending heritage rail travel with live-action theatre. This event will transport passengers back to the gold rush era, featuring a staged train robbery
inspired by historical events in Gympie, Australia. The experience will be brought to life by the Perseverance Street Theatre Company and CB Performance Horses, who will enact a robbery scene with outlaws on horseback. Passengers will engage with actors portraying outlaws as the train travels through the scenic Mary Valley to the historic village of Amamoor. The event aims to celebrate Gympie's rich gold heritage and the golden age of steam, with passengers encouraged to dress in period costumes for a chance to win prizes.
