What's Happening?
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) introduced an upgraded version of its PATAmPOWER tourism data platform during the PATA Annual Summit 2026 held in Korea. The revamped platform features a modernized interface and improved capabilities for filtering,
visualization, and data export. PATAmPOWER consolidates tourism data for the Asia Pacific region, offering insights into international visitor arrivals, visitor profiles, and expenditure, as well as flight frequency and seat capacity forecasts. The platform is designed to support various stakeholders, including governments, tourism organizations, and the hospitality sector, by providing access to critical tourism-related datasets. PATA members benefit from access to the platform, with levels determined by membership tier, and some datasets are available to the public upon request.
Why It's Important?
The enhancement of the PATAmPOWER platform underscores the growing importance of data-driven decision-making in the tourism and hospitality sectors. By providing comprehensive and accessible data, the platform aids stakeholders in making informed decisions that can enhance tourism strategies and economic outcomes. This development is particularly significant for the Asia Pacific region, which relies heavily on tourism as a key economic driver. The improved platform can help stakeholders better understand market trends, optimize resource allocation, and enhance visitor experiences, ultimately contributing to the region's economic resilience and growth.
