capabilities of the Switch 2. Key improvements include faster load times and GameChat support for users with an active Switch Online membership. Additionally, the game will run at a higher resolution of 1080p in handheld mode, although it will not support the Switch 2's Handheld Mode Boost feature. The game primarily uses button controls, but certain scenes, such as Mii creation, will support touch controls. However, Joy-Con 2 mouse controls will not be supported. The game allows for separate save data and island creation for each registered user, with the ability to register up to 70 Miis. The full game is set to release on April 16, 2026.
