Matthew Shifrin, a blind man from Newton, Massachusetts, has revolutionized the way visually impaired individuals can engage with Lego sets. Inspired by a family friend, Shifrin founded Bricks for the Blind,
providing accessible instructions in braille and audio formats. His initiative has created instructions for over 540 Lego sets, allowing blind builders to independently construct complex models. Shifrin's efforts have also influenced the Lego Group to develop audio and braille instructions for their products.
