What's Happening?
Josh Rossmeisl, founder and chief vision officer of AMP Up1 Hospitality, is set to launch The Looking Glass, an ambitious new social venue in downtown Atlanta. This immersive space is designed to host over 1,000 guests and features a variety of interactive
experiences, including elevated games, art installations, and a scavenger hunt called 'The Curiosity Quest.' The venue will utilize a 'Curiosity Card' to unlock these experiences, aiming to create a sense of wonder and discovery. Construction is expected to begin after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with an opening planned for the second quarter of 2027. The Looking Glass is part of a broader transformation of the CNN Center, aligning with the area's ongoing development and demand for unique social experiences.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of The Looking Glass reflects a growing trend in consumer preferences for immersive and memorable experiences. As people become more selective about where they spend their money, venues that offer unique, connection-driven experiences are increasingly in demand. This project not only aims to meet these consumer trends but also contributes to the revitalization of downtown Atlanta, a hub for tourism and major events. By integrating flexible event spaces, The Looking Glass is poised to attract a diverse clientele, from families to corporate groups, enhancing the city's appeal as a destination for both leisure and business activities.
What's Next?
With construction slated to begin post-2026 FIFA World Cup, The Looking Glass is expected to open in 2027. As the project progresses, it will likely attract attention from local businesses and tourism stakeholders eager to capitalize on the increased foot traffic and economic activity it promises to bring. The venue's success could inspire similar developments in other urban centers, further fueling the trend of immersive social spaces. Additionally, the project's focus on operational efficiency and premium design may set new standards for large-scale hospitality venues.
