The inaugural Apna Hockey Elite Female Camp took place on April 24-25 at the North Surrey Sport & Ice Complex in British Columbia, showcasing the talents of South Asian women in hockey. Organized by Apna Hockey, the camp aimed to provide a supportive
network for South Asian hockey players. Among the participants was Chanreet Bassi, a former University of British Columbia forward and the first South Asian drafted by a Professional Women's Hockey League team. Bassi, who scored 116 points in her university career, expressed surprise and excitement at the number of talented players present. The camp featured 20 players, highlighting the growing presence of South Asian women in the sport.
