The Swiss sneaker brand On has announced the expansion of its robotic production facilities with a new location in South Korea. Known for its innovative running and lifestyle sneakers featuring cloud-like soles, On initially launched its first robotic factory
in Zurich in July 2025. This facility began with four robots producing the laceless LightSpray Cloudboom Strike LS shoe. The new South Korean factory will utilize 32 additional automated robots to increase production capacity. The manufacturing process involves a robotic arm that applies On's LightSpray material, creating a lightweight, one-piece shoe upper in minutes. The company is also introducing the LightSpray Cloudmonster 3 Hyper, a super trainer designed for long and tempo runs, which will be available in North America on March 5 and globally on April 16. On's use of robotic manufacturing aims to reduce waste and carbon emissions while speeding up production compared to traditional handcrafted methods.
