Fountain Valley High School's boys' wrestling team achieved a notable third-place finish at the Cossarek Classic held at Westminster High. The team was led by standout performances from Vinnie Gutierrez and Christian Stoeber, who both secured individual titles. Gutierrez, competing in the 138-pound category, maintained a strong defense throughout the tournament, culminating in a narrow 2-1 victory over Zaydrien Hernandez from St. John Bosco in the finals. Stoeber, wrestling in the 165-pound category, demonstrated dominance with three pins and two technical falls, ultimately pinning Oakdale's Zeke Meza in the championship match. The team had a total of nine wrestlers reach the podium, contributing to their overall score of 227 points. St. John Bosco won
the tournament with 368 points, followed by Oakdale with 265 points.
