Red Bull New York has announced the acquisition of winger Cade Cowell on loan from LIGA MX side Chivas, with the deal extending through 2026 and including a purchase option. This move marks a return to
Major League Soccer (MLS) for the 22-year-old U.S. Men's National Team (USMNT) player, who previously played for the San Jose Earthquakes from 2020 to 2023. In exchange for Cowell's Discovery Priority, New York will send $50,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money (GAM) to San Jose. Cowell, known for his speed and skill, has a record of 10 goals and 15 assists in 104 regular-season games with San Jose. He joined Chivas in January 2024, where he scored 12 goals and provided 5 assists in 69 matches across all competitions. Internationally, Cowell has earned one goal in 11 caps for the USMNT and was a standout at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
