The Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) has announced the expansion of its OpTIC Path workforce program to address the growing demand for skilled fiber optic technicians in the U.S. The program, which provides a 144-hour, apprenticeship-aligned training,
is now active in over 20 states, with plans to expand to eight more. It aims to prepare job-ready workers to support the nationwide deployment of fiber networks. The FBA has also introduced a new Data Center Technician Add-On Module, set to launch in Q3 2026, to meet the demands of the rapidly growing data center industry. This initiative is part of a broader effort to accelerate broadband deployment and improve access to digital services across the country.
