Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems has announced securing contracts valued at approximately $275 million to supply an advanced airborne self-protection electronic warfare (EW) suite to an unnamed
country in the Asia-Pacific region. The contracts, spanning five years, focus on safeguarding helicopter platforms from missile threats. Elbit Systems will provide its Direct Infra-Red Counter-Measure (DIRCM) technology, designed to protect aircraft against heat-seeking ground-to-air missiles. The EW suite integrates electronic sensing, signal processing, and countermeasure functions to offer early warning, threat detection, and automated response capabilities. The DIRCM systems feature an open architecture configuration, allowing integration onto various aircraft types. This deal also includes the delivery of Elbit Systems’ Mini-MUSIC DIRCM system, which has been previously adopted by multiple customers, including the Israeli government and various European nations.
