BMW Group has partnered with Rimac Technology to develop an innovative high-voltage battery for the all-electric BMW i7. This collaboration aims to integrate BMW's Gen6 battery technology, which features
a 20% higher energy density, into the new 7 Series. The battery system, utilizing cylindrical cells, promises increased range and faster charging capabilities. The BMW i7 will debut on April 22nd at events in the US and China. Rimac Technology, a Tier 1 supplier, will manufacture the battery in Croatia, with assembly at BMW's Dingolfing plant in Germany.
