What's Happening?
Vector Informatik has expanded its CANoe Test Package EV to include automated security testing for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) communication. This enhancement targets vulnerabilities in electric vehicle (EV) and charging infrastructure, ensuring compliance
with standards like ISO 15118-2 and TLS 1.2 and 1.3. The automated approach addresses the limitations of manual testing, offering reproducible validation and integration into continuous development workflows. The package includes features like V2G communication fuzzing and TLS protocol tests, with plans for continuous updates.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of security testing capabilities is crucial as the adoption of EVs and V2G technology grows. Ensuring secure communication between vehicles and the grid is vital for protecting against cyber threats and maintaining the integrity of the power infrastructure. This development supports the broader push towards smart grid technologies and the integration of renewable energy sources. By enhancing security measures, Vector Informatik is contributing to the reliability and safety of future mobility solutions.
