Meta Platforms has unveiled plans to invest over $1 billion in a new data center located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This project includes significant investments in local water infrastructure, conservation, and affordability programs. Meta is collaborating with
the Tulsa Metropolitan Utility Authority to ensure the facility's water and wastewater needs are met without burdening local ratepayers. Additionally, Meta is partnering with the Tulsa Community Foundation to establish a fund that assists residents with water bills and service line repairs. The initiative also includes broader community and workforce investments, such as training programs for digital infrastructure careers in partnership with Tulsa Tech and Tulsa Community College. Meta aims to become water positive by 2030, restoring more water to local watersheds than it consumes, and has contracted for over 1,500 megawatts of new renewable energy in Oklahoma.
