Nia DaCosta, known for her work on 'Hedda' and 'The Marvels', has been selected to direct the pilot and second episode of 'Sex Criminals', a new series adaptation for Prime Video. The series is based on the Image Comics title created by Matt Fraction
and Chip Zdarsky. The announcement was made during Amazon's Upfront presentation in New York City. The series, which will consist of eight episodes, stars Imogen Poots and John Reynolds. The plot follows Suze, played by Poots, who discovers she can stop time when she has sex. She meets Jon, played by Reynolds, who shares the same ability, and together they decide to rob banks. The series is co-created by Emily V. Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani, and Tze Chun, who also serve as showrunners and executive producers. Nanjiani will also appear in the series.
