What's Happening?
The 2026 International Fly-Fishing Film Festival is set to take place on May 21 at the National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown. This free event will feature 11 films from international filmmakers, each exploring themes of adventure, conservation,
and human interest within the context of fly fishing. The festival is part of the NCTC Conservation Lecture Series and is co-sponsored by Friends of the NCTC. It aims to educate and entertain attendees while promoting environmental awareness and conservation efforts.
Why It's Important?
The festival is important as it raises awareness about conservation issues through the engaging medium of film. By highlighting the beauty and challenges of fly fishing, the event encourages a deeper appreciation for natural environments and the need to protect them. It also provides a platform for filmmakers to share their work with a broader audience, fostering a global dialogue on conservation. As environmental concerns continue to grow, events like this play a crucial role in inspiring action and promoting sustainable practices.
