Shomali, who has a background in pastry from working at renowned restaurants like Spago, has focused on creating authentic Iranian breads such as barbari, a staple flatbread in Iranian cuisine. The bakery does not have seating, emphasizing a walk-in, walk-out experience. In addition to its bread offerings, Kouzeh Bakery also sells products made by other Iranian women in California, including cookies and jams.
