Kouzeh Bakery, a new establishment in Los Angeles, has opened its doors along the Miracle Mile stretch of Wilshire Boulevard. Owned by pastry chef Sahar Shomali, the bakery specializes in a variety of Iranian breads and pastries, offering around 25 different
items. Shomali, who has a background in pastry from working at renowned restaurants like Spago, has focused on creating authentic Iranian breads such as barbari, a staple flatbread in Iranian cuisine. The bakery does not have seating, emphasizing a walk-in, walk-out experience. In addition to its bread offerings, Kouzeh Bakery also sells products made by other Iranian women in California, including cookies and jams.
