What's Happening?
Pilot Travel Centers and Tesla have announced a partnership to install semi chargers for heavy-duty electric vehicles at select Pilot locations. The initiative will focus on major corridors such as Interstate 5 and Interstate 10, where the demand for heavy-duty charging is highest. The first charging sites are expected to open in the summer of 2026. These stations will feature Tesla's V4 cabinet charging technology, capable of delivering up to 1.2 megawatts of power per stall. Initially, the network will cater to Tesla's semi trucks, with potential future expansion to accommodate other manufacturers' heavy-duty electric vehicles.
