Al Ahram Beverages Company (ABC), in collaboration with the Agricultural Research Center and Sahara Egypt Group, has launched the 2026 barley harvest season in East Oweinat, Egypt. This initiative is part of the Sustainable Barley Cultivation Program,
which aims to enhance local barley production and integrate scientific research with industrial applications. The program focuses on developing high-quality barley varieties, improving water-use efficiency, and reducing carbon footprints. ABC relies on 100% locally grown barley, sourcing over 90% of its raw materials from the Egyptian market. This strategy supports local agriculture, reduces import reliance, and aligns with Egypt Vision 2030's sustainability goals.
