Lloyd’s Register Group (LR) and the Lloyd’s Register Foundation have announced the appointment of Matthias Altendorf as the new Chair of the Board, succeeding Thomas Thune Andersen in June 2027. Altendorf, who has a strong background in digital experience

Andersen has been influential in the maritime and energy sectors, holding senior roles at Maersk Oil and A.P. Moller – Maersk, and serving on various boards, including Orsted and BW Offshore. Altendorf's career includes a 25-year tenure at Endress + Hauser, a Swiss-based company specializing in process and measurement technology, and founding a company focused on human-centered management.
