What's Happening?
Scenthound, a chain of pet wellness centers, is expanding its presence in the Augusta area with plans to open three new locations. Former McDonald's franchisees Andy and Angie Harrelson are leading this expansion, leveraging their 40 years of business
experience. The couple, who were initially satisfied customers of Scenthound, aim to bring the brand's preventive dog care services to the region. Scenthound offers monthly membership packages that allow pet owners to select specific services tailored to their dogs' needs, ranging from basic hygiene to advanced grooming. The Harrelsons have also planned to open three additional locations in the Columbia area, with the first 'Scenter' set to open in March in Irmo.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of Scenthound into the Augusta area highlights the growing demand for specialized pet care services. As pet ownership continues to rise, so does the need for convenient and comprehensive care options. Scenthound's membership model offers flexibility and customization, appealing to pet owners who seek tailored care for their animals. This business model not only meets consumer demand but also provides a steady revenue stream for franchisees. The Harrelsons' decision to invest in Scenthound underscores the potential profitability and community impact of pet wellness services. As the franchise grows, it could set a precedent for similar businesses looking to capitalize on the booming pet care industry.
