Rianne Malixi, a freshman at Duke University, has been awarded the 2026 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Freshman of the Year. Malixi, a former U.S. Amateur and U.S. Girls' Junior champion, had an outstanding season, finishing third at the NCAA
Women's Golf Championship. She achieved a 70.61 stroke average, the second-lowest in Duke's history, and recorded one win, five top-5 finishes, and 18 rounds of even or under par. Under the guidance of coach Dan Brooks, Malixi becomes the fifth Duke player to receive this honor, joining the ranks of notable alumni such as Brittany Lang and Leona Maguire.
