The 86th Kila Raipur Rural Olympics commenced in Ludhiana, Punjab, with the revival of the iconic bullock cart races after a 12-year hiatus. Punjab Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian inaugurated the event, which drew large crowds eager to witness the traditional spectacle. The races, deeply rooted in Punjab's rural heritage, were made possible by the Punjab Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Punjab Amendment) Act, 2025, which introduced safety standards for animals.
