What's Happening?
Berlin-based retailer Andreas Murkudis is launching a new fashion label called 'Bare', which will debut during Paris Fashion Week. The collection, described as 'elevated essentials', aims to offer high-quality
fashion pieces without the high price tags typically associated with luxury brands. The debut collection includes 22 styles for both men and women, featuring coats, knitwear, and shirts. The label focuses on timeless designs and innovative fabrics, with production centered in Japan and Scotland. Benoit Duverger, a long-time friend and collaborator of Murkudis, is the sole investor and cofounder of the label.
Why It's Important?
The launch of 'Bare' represents a growing trend in the fashion industry towards offering high-quality, timeless pieces at more accessible price points. This approach caters to a market of informed consumers seeking value and sustainability in their fashion choices. The collaboration between Murkudis and Duverger highlights the importance of partnerships in bringing new fashion concepts to market. The label's focus on quality and longevity could set a precedent for other brands looking to balance luxury with affordability.
What's Next?
Following its debut, 'Bare' aims to secure between 20 and 30 wholesale accounts with specialty stores worldwide. The label also plans to open a standalone boutique in Paris, expanding its reach and visibility. As the fashion industry continues to evolve, 'Bare' will likely focus on slow growth and strategic partnerships to establish itself in the competitive market. The success of this new label could influence other retailers and designers to adopt similar business models.
