What's Happening?
Mithril Silver and Gold Limited has announced significant progress in its drilling operations at the Copalquin property in Durango State, Mexico. The company reported high-grade gold and silver mineralization
from its latest drilling efforts, particularly from hole RE26-009, which confirmed mineralization approximately 300 meters west of the 2021 Mineral Resource Estimate boundary. This drilling is part of Mithril's strategy to expand the resource footprint and upgrade geological confidence in the area. The results include notable intercepts such as 9.65 meters at 7.00 g/t gold and 370 g/t silver, with a peak of 0.50 meters at 30.70 g/t gold and 1,780 g/t silver. The drilling campaign aims to support a resource update scheduled for June 2026, with ongoing exploration to test new targets and expand known mineralized zones.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of the high-grade gold-silver resource at Copalquin is significant for Mithril as it enhances the company's potential to increase its mineral resource base, which is crucial for future mining operations and economic viability. The successful drilling results could lead to a substantial increase in the company's asset valuation and attract further investment. Additionally, the expansion supports Mithril's strategic goal of establishing a multi-million-ounce gold and silver resource in the Copalquin district. This development is also important for the local economy in Durango State, potentially leading to job creation and economic growth in the region.
What's Next?
Mithril plans to continue its aggressive exploration program throughout 2026, with up to 25,000 meters of drilling planned. The company is focused on completing the current drilling campaign by mid-May, with results expected to inform a Mineral Resource update in June 2026. Mithril will also continue to advance its exploration efforts by integrating district-wide geophysical data and testing new high-priority targets. The company aims to further delineate the resource potential of the Copalquin district, which could lead to future mining operations and increased production capacity.
