Astound has announced the launch of a new fixed wireless network in Northern California, providing high-speed internet access to over 26,000 homes. This network covers areas in Yolo County, including Davis, and parts of Placer County such as Penryn, Auburn, Newcastle, Lincoln, Granite Bay, and Roseville. Notably, 2,000 of these locations are in predominantly rural areas that previously lacked access to high-speed internet and WiFi services. This development follows Astound's acquisition by investment firm Stonepeak for $8.1 billion in 2021 and a recent refinancing commitment of $400 million from Stonepeak, extending Astound's debt maturities to 2029 and 2030.
