Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is proceeding with its plans to build a new primary aluminium smelter in the United States, despite disruptions caused by the Iran conflict. The company, which had to shut down its Al Taweelah smelter in the UAE following
an Iranian attack, is partnering with Century Aluminum to establish the first new smelter in the U.S. in nearly 50 years. The project, located in Oklahoma, is expected to produce 750,000 metric tons of aluminium annually.
