What's Happening?
This summer, a landmark auction will take place in Paris, featuring the personal archives of Martin Margiela, the founder of Maison Margiela. Scheduled for July 9, the auction is organized by Maurice Auction in collaboration with Kerry Taylor Auctions.
It will showcase over 200 lots from Margiela's archives, spanning from 1984 to 2008. This event marks the first time a designer of Margiela's stature has directly partnered with an auction house to offer, sort, and authenticate his personal archives. Notable items include a 1987 work file, a white coat worn by Margiela, and the Tabi Graffiti from 1991. Additionally, the auction will feature approximately 60 outfits and accessories from the wardrobe of Margiela's mother, reflecting his work at Hermès.
