Second lady Usha Vance has had her share of fashion hits and misses. On the positive side, Usha has flashed her killer legs on a number of occasions as she's rocked boldly colored outfits. Unfortunately, Usha has also worn outfits that missed the mark, often because they were bland, yawn-worthy neutrals. Another of Usha's frequent fashion mistakes involves dressing older than her age, an error that was evident when she accompanied her husband, JD Vance, on a trip to the U.K. In that case, the pattern
of Usha's floral dress was so tightly packed with blooms that it was hard to make sense of it, and it ended up looking too busy and unflattering.
Beyond that, the 'fit's issues were exacerbated by Usha's choice of accessories. The second lady appears to prioritize comfort in her shoe collection, which is totally relatable. However, Usha tends to take things a little too far, resulting in senior citizen sneakers and other footwear fails. Here, Usha picked sturdy black flats. To top it off, her watch looked bulky and oversized, overwhelming her wrist.

While nothing can be done to alleviate the visual noise of Usha's dress, a few tweaks could level up her accessories game. For instance, Usha could make her legs appear even longer by swapping the dark flats for a comfy pair in a shade that matches her skin tone. Similarly, Usha could try a watch with a metal band to provide a more seamless look.

Usha Takes A Crowdsourced Approach To Fashion
Although she's taken on a national role, Usha Vance apparently hasn't changed her fashion mindset. Compared to other women in Donald Trump's circle, Usha's style gravitates toward clothing without big names and price tags. While she's put together some outfits that are less than stellar, Usha's sustainable, minimalist approach to daily dressing is admirable. "I have a closet," Usha informed Meghan McCain on her podcast, "Citizen McCain." "Let's just mix and match what's in it and find something that's appropriate for the occasion without having to constantly go out and buy new things." Luckily, when it comes to floral dresses, Usha already has a better option in her closet, a cream-colored sleeveless dress with larger blooms outlined in a melon hue.
While Usha occasionally relies on a stylist, she appears to prefer crowdsourced opinions. In a group text, Usha encourages her friends to take the creative lead in assembling outfits. "We've taken pictures of everything in my closet and put it on this, this app where everyone can kind of mix and match things and say, 'What if you wore this with that, or that with this?'" Usha informed McCain.
Despite Usha's preference to re-wear her clothing as much as possible, perhaps she and her friends can do a virtual closet clean-out. A couple of strategic purchases could make a world of difference, including sportier, less senior-citizen-coded sneakers, like ones in a retro style with contrasting neutral shades.
