Dhurandhar might be a dramatized interpretation of actual events, yet its characters draw inspiration from real individuals. Bollywood star Arjun Rampal
portrays the character of ISI chief Major Iqbal in this film, which centers around an undercover Indian operative in Pakistan’s Lyari. In a recent discussion, the actor shared the difficulties he faced while embodying such a sinister role. Rampal, who identifies as a patriot, confessed that he felt “terrible” taking on the persona of a man thought to be the architect behind the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. He expressed a desire to distance himself from the character immediately after filming. Arjun mentioned to Grazia, “I wanted to escape the character as quickly as possible. One of the main reasons for taking on this role was because it’s a significant film. Witnessing the event is one thing, but understanding what transpired behind the scenes during those occurrences is something that intrigues me as an audience member,” stated Arjun. He continued, “It felt awful while performing because of my deep love for my country, but I suppose that’s part of an actor’s role, and you just immerse yourself in it.” About Dhurandhar Helmed by Aditya Dhar, the film stars Ranveer Singh in the leading role and includes Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun in supporting roles. Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, Naveen Kaushik, and others also play significant parts. The movie premiered in theaters on December 5 and has been a box office sensation. It has grossed Rs 589.50 crore to date and is anticipated to surpass the Rs 600 crore milestone shortly. A sequel to Dhurandhar has also been announced. It is scheduled for release on March 19, 2026. This action film will compete with Yash’s Toxic at the box office. Stay tuned for further updates!
