Audience is eagerly awaiting Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal's forthcoming movie Love & War. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film is now
reported to wrap up filming by the end of May 2026, aiming for a release shortly thereafter. For those who may not know, production began last year in November 2024, with an initial expectation for a release this year. Although the producers have yet to make an official announcement, rumors suggest that additional details will be shared at the beginning of the new year.
Love & War postpones filming, anticipated release after May 2026
According to recent updates from the prominent news outlet Bollywood Hungama, "Ranbir, Alia, and Vicky have reserved their schedules until May 2026. All their previous engagements have been postponed due to the extended filming days for Love And War. It is impossible for Love & War to premiere in June. Bhansali is now striving to release it in August or September 2026. A specific date will be confirmed soon. This has caused some disappointment among the Ramayana crew, as they were hoping for at least a six-month interval between Love & War and Ramayana. The delays in filming have also led to increased costs for Love & War."
First look from the film to be revealed next month
Last week, on December 24, a source informed Mid-day that the creators plan to unveil the first look from the film in January 2026, "It might be an official poster or behind-the-scenes images that Bhansali has carefully crafted. The audience has already caught glimpses of the actors’ looks through leaked photos. However, the director now wants viewers to experience his interpretation of Love and War."
In the meantime, Ranbir will reconnect with Alia following Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. Love & War signifies the reunion of Kapoor with Vicky Kaushal after Sanju (2018).
