Best Dancer Season 5 is all set to start on June 6, 2026, on Sony TV. The upcoming season of the dance reality show will have Terrence Lewis, Karisma Kapoor and Jaaved Jaaferi as judges with Haarsh Limbachiyaa as the host of it. Ahead of the grand premiere, the makers have been dropping several promos on social media. In one of the promos, the judges and Haarsh discussed the golden history of Indian cinema. It has to be noted that the first dance sequence in Bollywood has a connection with the prestigious Kapoor family. Jaaved, Terence and Karisma talked about the first dance sequences in Bollywood after being asked by the host.

Bollywood Dance Legacy

Haarsh Limbachiyaa asked the judges about the first Bollywood film where they saw the first glimpse of dance. Jaaved Jaaferi, who is known for judging the famous dance show, Boogie Woogie, revealed that he feels it was Aplam Chaplam. He praised fantastic dance moves in the song. When Haarsh asked Terence Lewis about the same, the choreographer said that Vyjayanthimala was one of the best dancers in Bollywood. He praised South Indian actresses like Hema Malini, Sridevi and Vyjayanthimala to raise the bar of dance on a higher level. He praised their technique and classical dancing skills.

Apart from that, Terence also mentioned that Madhuri Dixit won the hearts with her dance and expressions. The choreographer also mentioned that Karisma Kapoor gave a filmy touch to the dance in Bollywood. Eventually, Haarsh Limbachiyaa revealed the real answer. He said that Prithviraj Kapoor’s Alam Ara is the first Indian film which had a dance sequence. After learning that, Jaaved Jaaferi got nostalgic and said, “I remember Prithviraj Kapoor ji, and after that Raj Kapoor ji, Shammi Kapoor ji, Shashi Kapoor ji all of them had an incredible screen presence and personality. Prithviraj Kapoor ji, in particular, had one of the most impressive personalities and physique.” The trivia indeed took the judges down memory lane, as Kapoor Khandaan’s connection with the first dance sequence of Bollywood is nothing but a special one.
