Dion is making a grand comeback on stage with 10 concerts in Paris. The legendary singer made the big announcement as a return gift on her 58th birthday on March 30. The news has surely left her massive fan base thrilled, as it comes four years after she was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called Stiff‑Person Syndrome. The incurable condition affected her singing voice and her ability to walk. The audience got to see a glimpse of her struggle with the disease in her documentary I Am: Celine Dion in 2024. Dion, known for her power ballads and who has given us classic songs like My Heart Will Go On and Because You Loved Me, will hold the shows in September-October 2026.
Celine Dion comeback announcement
Celine Dion's comeback announcement comes after an ad campaign in Paris that had fuelled speculation that the music icon would be returning in the French capital. It has now been confirmed that she will be performing a 10-night residency at the 40,000-capacity Paris La Défense Arena.
On March 30, Dion took to her Instagram handle and posted a video announcing her return. In the clip, she said, "I'm so ready to do this," she told fans. "I'm feeling good, I'm strong, I'm feeling excited, obviously, [and] of course, a little nervous." Calling her comeback "the best gift of my life," she added, "I’m feeling excited, obviously a little nervous, but most of all, I’m grateful to all of you. I love you all and I’ll see you soon!"
Celine Dion on her medical condition
Dion addressed her medical condition and said, "I'm doing great, managing my health, feeling good. I'm singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing. But I have to tell you something very important: Over these last few years, every day that's gone by, I felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love. I am grateful to all of you. I can't wait to see you again."Celine Dion's news was accompanied by a light show on the Eiffel Tower, too. As per the announcement, the pre-sale tickets for her shows will go on sale on April 7, while the general sale will start on April 10.
Last stage show before Stiff Person Syndrome
This would be Dion's return after her last show in Newark, New Jersey, on 8 March, 2020. Her Courage tour was cut short by the outbreak of COVID-19. Later, she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, which affected her singing voice and her ability to walk. It forced her to cancel her scheduled shows.
