Dhanush starrer Kara's cast, story, runtime and more
The film
Kara has been cleared by the censor board with a UA 16+ certificate, indicating mature themes and strong language, according to ETimes. Runtime is said to be 161 minutes, which suggests a detailed narrative which unfolds at its own pace. Set against the backdrop of the Gulf War, 1991, the story follows Karaswamy, a man learning to live with his past, while trying to protect his family. The script has been written from real news reports transformed into a tense screenplay. Dhanush was also said to have contributed creatively, helping make the character feel more grounded.
The film has been made to let the story carry the weight instead of leaning on the usual larger-than-life moments. This approach keeps the story grounded and character-focused. Mamitha Baiju and Suraj Venjaramoodu also play important roles along with Dhanush. The production is backed by a major studio banner and mixes seasoned talent with some new faces.
On the technical side, GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music, continuing his collaboration with Dhanush, while Theni Eswar has handled the visuals. Posters and glimpses so far suggest a raw, intense rural drama, and expectations are high for another strong performance from Dhanush.
