The
Night Manager Season 2 concluded on a devastating note for main character Jonathan Pine, played by Tom Hiddleston. The first season had premiered a decade ago in 2016. The six-part spy thriller series, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on January 11, finished its run on February 1. At the end, viewers are left wondering what is to become of Pine and his mission? How will he recover after those tragic losses in the season 2 finale? And most importantly, is there a Season 3? Here’s all you need to know about The Night Manager’s third season and when to expect it.
Will The Night Manager be back for Season 3?
Yes, the show, which is also produced by the BBC, has already been renewed for a third season. Star and executive producer Hiddleston recently revealed that they are already working on a third season, which is in “official development.” The makers had planned the two seasons to complete a “two-volume story.”
The first season of The Night Manager was adapted from John le Carré's 1993 novel, but the next two seasons are original works. Creator and writer David Farr and director Georgi Banks-Davies have planned out the seasons as a trilogy.
Returning cast for The Night Manager Season 3
Warning: Spoilers Ahead! While Hiddleston is confirmed to return as Jonathan Pine, some other familiar names might be less certain. The characters of Olivia Colman and Diego Calva were cruelly executed in the
last episode of Season 2. Farr is currently writing the screenplay. But besides Hugh Laurie as Richard Roper and Noah Jupe as his son Danny Roper, other names are uncertain.
Hayley Squires, Indira Varma, and Alistair Petrie, who had key parts in the second season, could be back to reprise their roles as well. Of course, the deceased characters could also pop up in a flashback at any point.
The Night Manager release date
While a 2026 release date is unlikely, fans won’t have to wait another decade to see Hiddleston as Pine again. Last month, the actor told
This Morning that the second season was “the beginning of a 12-episode story."
A late 2027 release date is possible if the Amazon Prime Video series begins filming by mid-2026. Seasons 1 and 2 of The Night Manager are now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. In the UK, viewers can watch the spy series on the BBC and its iPlayer.
