Sharing pictures from the meeting on X, Rishab Shetty wrote, “Had the honour of meeting the Honourable Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah ji. It became one of my most memorable moments as he shared his words of appreciation for Kantara and Kantara Chapter 1.” The actor further revealed that their conversation was not limited to pleasantries! The two touched upon deeper subjects related to cinema and culture.What stood out for Shetty was Amit Shah’s understanding of Indian heritage. “I must say, I was truly happy when he began sharing his in-depth knowledge and understanding of our history, culture, art and filmmaking,” he added. The interaction also gave Shetty an opportunity to speak about his future projects. He mentioned that he had “a wonderful time discussing” what lies ahead in his career, hinting at the ambitious slate he is currently working on.

Set across timelines, the story of
Kantara: Chapter 1 traces the mystical origins of a sacred forest and its protectors. In 1970, a young Shiva questions his father Annappa’s disappearance during Buta Kola ritual, tied to a mysterious forest circle. The narrative then shifts to the 4th century, where a tyrannical king’s attempt to exploit a divine spice forest leads to his death at the hands of guardian spirits. A divine child, Berme, grows up to protect the forest and his people, forming a bond with princess Kanakavathi. As greed and betrayal unfold, Kanakavathi conspires to harness divine powers through dark rituals. Berme, empowered by deities like Guliga and later Lord Shiva, wages war to restore balance.
Apart from this, Rishab Shetty is also gearing up for another major project,
Jai Hanuman. A sequel to the 2024 hit
Hanu-Man, the film is part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe and has already generated huge buzz. Shetty will be seen portraying Lord Hanuman. The film gained attention right from its announcement, which coincided with the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
