Now, rumours around actor Vijay’s Jana Nayagan being a remake of Bhagavanth Kesari have resurfaced once again. Reacting to the speculation, Bhagavanth Kesari director Anil Ravipudi said the answers will be clear after Jana Nayagan releases, and if he has any role in Vijay’s farewell project.

Speaking at a press meet in Vijayawada for his upcoming film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Anil Ravipudi answered questions around Jana Nayagan and his association with Vijay. He said, “Vijay Sir is a true gentleman. We will know whether I have any part in his farewell film only after its release. Until then, let’s treat it as a Thalapathy Vijay film.” Director H Vinoth, who is directing Jana Nayagan, recently responded to the rumours at the film’s audio launch event in Malaysia. Addressing claims that the film is a remake, H Vinoth said, “Some people say this is a remake. Let me be very clear, this is a 100 per cent Thalapathy film, a complete commercial treat in theatres."Responses from the acclaimed directors neither confirmed the remake speculation nor denied it, instead the two declared that the project being driven primarily by Vijay’s large on-screen presence.
The first talk about the remake began during a public interaction involving actor VTV Ganesh and Anil Ravipudi at a Sankranthiki Vasthunam event, where VTV Ganesh claimed Vijay had watched Bhagavanth Kesari several times and had discussions with Ravipudi about the project. Ravipudi later clarified that while conversations did take place, discussions about Vijay’s final film were premature and it didn't take off.
