Gentleman’s Journal, Macaulay said that when Catherine passed away in January, it affected him deeply because it felt too soon. He said, "When Catherine passed away in January, that hit me. That hit me pretty good..." He said he believed there was unfinished emotional business between them and that he felt he owed her a favour. He added that he did not like leaving any "outstanding debt" in relationships.Earlier in January, in his tribute to O'Hara, the actor had expressed that he felt they should have had more time together.
