Arijit Singh’s retirement announcement on January 27 sent shockwaves across the Indian film industry. At the peak of his career, he decided to retire from playback singing. While he will continue making
music independently and conduct live shows, rumours are rife that Singh is now foraying into direction. In his official statement, Arijit clarified that his pre-recorded songs will feature in movies, but he wouldn’t be signing new projects. One of them is O’ Romeo’s love ballad, titled Ishq Ka Fever. The song will be releasing tomorrow (February 1). The romantic track is picturised on Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri.

Hussain Ustara and Sapna Didi. A teaser of the song was shared on social media today. On Friday, Bhardwaj shared a behind-the-scenes video where he was seen jamming with Arijit. The filmmaker recalled the day when the video was shot. Unaware of Singh’s decision to retire from playback singing, he urged him to take his ‘sanyaas back’.

Through his private X account, Arijit told his fans that he will not be taking new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. He thanked God for being kind towards him and hinted at a future that challenges him as an artiste. Arijit said in the same note that he has to finish some pending commitments and will not stop making music. Revealing the reason behind his playback singing retirement,
Arijit added that there is not one reason behind the decision which has been brewing for a long time. One of the reasons, as stated by him, was boredom and redundancy that led him to changing arrangements of the same songs and perform them on stage. Another reason for him to take a step back was to let new singers rise.
What next for Arijit Singh?
Arijit, who has been a part of the music industry for over a decade, is now keen on venturing into direction. Reportedly, he has started shooting for his first directorial, a jungle adventure film, which marks the acting debut of Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s daughter
Shora. The shooting is currently going on in Shanti Niketan. The film has been written by Arijit and his wife, Koel Singh.Other speculations are that Arijit will launch his own political party in West Bengal. He hasn’t made an official announcement regarding his political venture. As of now, he remains a part of the Hindi film industry with songs in upcoming movies such as

Battle Of Galwan.
