Chopra on Tuesday, March 31, hailed husband and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha for making a case for bringing in paternity leave law in India. Raghav, who has built a reputation for highlighting common and everyday problems faced by the general public, presented his arguments on why paternity leave is essential, in the parliament. Parineeti took to the comment section of Raghav's Instagram post and called him a 'thoughtful leader' who is 'solving issue after issue' for the public.

The Hasee Toh Phasee actor swelled with pride as the AAP MP brought everyone's attention to the subject of paternity leave. She penned, "Proud to say that this thoughtful leader - solving issue after issue for the public - is my husband and my baby’s father!"She further highlighted that the matter is 'personal' for Raghav as the couple welcomed their first child recently. Parineeti added, "Seeing you as a hands-on father everyday, I KNOW how personal this is for you! Proud of you. Today, every mother who feels alone and is left alone , is going to feel seen and heard today!"Raghav has been trending on social media for the past few weeks for consistently raising issues that concern the general public in day to day life.

Raghav Chadha Bats For Paternity Leave

In his parliament speech, Raghav stated that when a child is born, both parents are congratulated. But the entire responsibility of raising the child and caring for the newborn falls on only one parent, the mother. He argued that this is not fair. A father should not have to choose between being present for his newborn and keeping his job. "Caregiving is a shared responsibility. Our laws must reflect that," he said.

The paternity leave issue is clearly close to Raghav's heart and for a very personal reason. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on October 19, 2025, and named their son Neer. The couple, who got engaged in May 2023 at Kapurthala House in New Delhi, tied the knot in September 2023 at The Leela Palace, Udaipur.
