Mani Ratnam Says He Is Proud Of Mari Selvaraj's Bison
The message of appreciation was shared directly by Mani Ratnam to Mari Selvaraj over a text after Thug Life director watched the film.Through his X handle, Mari shared the words of Mani Ratnam, who said, "Hi Mari, Just saw the film. Liked it a lot. You are the Bison. Proud of your work. Keep it going. This voice is important." Thanking Mani Ratnam, Mari Selvaraj posted, "Starting from Pariyerum Perumal, it is your encouraging words that have encouraged me, and for that I thank you with great admiration."
A few days ago, Rajinikanth praised the film. In a post shared by Mari Selvaraj, the post read "Super Mari Super, I watched Bison. The effort and personality you put into the film amazed me. Congratulations Mari," said Superstar over a phone call. Mari Selvaraj stated that this was not the first time he had received a call from Rajinikanth after a film’s release. "Just like how Superstar called me after watching Pariyerum Perumal, Karnan, Maamannan, Vaazhai he extended his wishes after watching my fifth film Bison (Kaalamadhan)'," the director shared on X. Rajinikanth personally reached out to Selvaraj and his brother Ranjith to share his thoughts. "Superstar called me and my brother Ranjith on the phone and sincerely praised us," Mari Selvaraj posted on X.
Bison is based on the story of kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan. The film has earned Rs 55 crores in its worldwide collection. The film stars Anupama Parameshwaran, Pasupathy, Rajisha Vijayan, Lal, Ameer, and Aruvi Madhan, among others.
