Vijay Sethupathi and Vidya Balan in the film?
According to an
IANS report, industry insiders claimed that Vijay Sethupathi has joined the Goa schedule of
Jailer 2, where his portions are reportedly being filmed under Nelson’s direction. However, there has been no official confirmation about his role or casting from the makers yet. A report from
Hindustan Times suggested that Vidya Balan may play the role of Mithun Chakraborty’s eldest daughter. Mithun will reportedly serve as the film’s primary antagonist, appearing alongside Rajinikanth. If the reports hold true,
Jailer 2 would mark Vidya Balan’s full-fledged Tamil debut following her cameo in
Nerkonda Paarvai (2019). The buzz around the sequel remains high, largely due to the massive success of the first film, which collected approximately Rs 650 crore worldwide.
