It's been an open secret that Disney has spent a lot on its prequel series, Andor. The Disney+ series, which premiered its second season in April 2025, tells the tale of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), who
was introduced in the 2016 film Rogue One. The Star Wars show has become one of Disney's most critically acclaimed and fan-approved projects in recent times, and recently, the studio revealed how much it has spent on season 2.
Disney spent more money on Andor than any Star Wars film
In a report by
Forbes, it was confirmed that Disney spent
$60.5 million (around £47.9 million) on Andor Season 2 in 2024. Created by Tony Gilroy, the total cost of the sci-fi political thriller was
$705.5 million (£552.7 million). No other Star Wars project has come close, as The Last Jedi (2017), directed by Rian Johnson, cost
$280.7 million.
