The tragic incident occurred while the family was on a New Year vacation in Dubai, post which Arjun and his wife, Neha Swami, to immediately cut short their trip and return to Mumbai. According to a close family member, Rakesh Chandra Swami was admitted to the ICU on Monday after suffering a sudden stroke and was placed on ventilator support later that evening. Despite the doctors’ efforts, he could not recover and passed away on Thursday morning. He was 73 years old and is survived by his son Nishank and daughter Neha.

Hindustan Times report quoted a family member who revealed that Swami was in good health and was preparing to have dinner when he suddenly collapsed. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where his condition deteriorated rapidly. “It was completely unexpected. He was fit and fine, and none of us could have imagined something like this,” the family member said. The shock has been particularly hard for the family, as Neha and Arjun had met everyone just before leaving for their vacation. “We are all still struggling to come to terms with what happened,” the source added.

He filled an emotional void in his life,” the family member shared. For Neha, the loss is equally devastating, as she shared a deeply close relationship with her father.
