Shally Bhasin on the awareness Haq brings to public
In an interview with
Zoom, Shally Bhasin said of the film, "I think it creates awareness amongst our people. The whole fight is a landmark fight for justice for women for a particular community. But it also tells everyone what are the rights for women. People should know what are the issues which... as it is, women are the minority gender, so people will know what the issues women are facing. It creates empowerment for women."

She also agreed that more authentic films on legal matters need to be made and added, saying, "I think people should know. People only see what see on TV or news every day that what courts are doing. But if such issues are brought to the fore, people will know there are earth-shattering issues being decided every day which are of general importance to the common man."

Shweta Shroff Chopra on Haq's important message
Additionally, Shweta Shroff Chopra shared that
Haq had an important message for viewers. She said, "I think movies traditionally at least, for me, was a route to escaping the realities. But I think movies like Haq and other topical movies are important to watch as a community and as viewers because there are very few movies which anchor us back to the reality of the world we are in. It's very escape and be in a bubble. But there are times where we must pay attention to how the world in which we live and breathe and are a part of are actually impacted. Real kudos to filmmakers who are actually bringing up these issues through their work. Movies which are hard-hitting and real are actually must-watches."
Haq was released in theatres on November 7. Veteran actors Sheeba Chadha and Aseem Hattangady play Yami Gautam's legal representatives in the film.
