Doctor Doom's new HD image
A new viral high-resolution image of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday has surfaced online, providing the clearest look at Marvel's live-action take on the iconic villain. The image quickly triggered a discussion on social media about what to expect from RDJ's Doctor Doom, the Multiverse Saga's new supervillain, following the exit of Kang the Conqueror.
Avengers: Doomday speculated teaser details
The photo of Doctor Doom gives glimpses of several details. While the design stays close to the classic Doom from Marvel comics, his metal mask and armoured gauntlets, along with a dark green cloak, chain-mail sleeves, and a detailed tunic with modern texture in sync with MCU-style realism. The suit apparently appears to be heavy, built tactfully, and reminds us of the experimental Stark-tech armour with medieval influence. Some even noticed the impression of Thor's Mjölnir and Captain America's shield on the left and right side of Doom's suit.
According to one fan page analysis of the impending Doomsday teaser, "It is said to be more than just a teaser. It reveals that Doctor Doom needs his armour because his body is completely broken and scarred. Doctor Doom is described as a classic ‘Universal’ monster and compared to Erik from ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. It shows lots of footage of Doctor Doom in action."
Doctor Doom in MCU
A viral post also discussed the probable plotline of Avengers: Doomsday, and how would Robert Downey Jr fit in the stream of things in a brand new character, a glimpse of which we saw in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, earlier this year. For the unversed, a certain promo art of Victor Von Doom aka Doctor Doom surfaced earlier this year. With his look returning, this time in full HD, his armour and overall aura are highly intriguing. Though Marvel fandom continues to remain curious as to how MCU would justify Doom as a brand new character, or would he be a Tony Stark Variant.
